"Well . . . as always it was a big night and once again a big game. The final score was RJH 6 - CKJH 0.

On our 3rd offensive play, we run our QB around the corner and he takes a shot in the back that puts him out of the game. To say that his was a blow, so early in the game is an understatement. He is a 2-year varsity player - who I thin could have started at many high schools. The next series we lose our #1 TB with a bruised pelvis.

But our kids toughed it out, our #1 WR had to move back to TB and he scored on a 70 yard run. We play tough D the rest of the game and get the "W". It was a battle on both sides of the ball and the CK kids came to play. The QB for CK is an 8th grader - we eventually had to run a 7th grader at TB in the 2nd half. The rivalry will do nothing but get more intense it seems.

I am sad that the FB season is over"

"Our jr. varsity went down to Oakland Bay. Both teams were undefeated, and Oakland Bay won, 22-6. I do not know when each team scored….all I have is the final score.

Our Varsity played Cedar Heights this week. Both teams had records of 3 wins, 1 loss. We were able to defeat Cedar 32-22. We scored in the first quarter and kicked the PAT for an 8-0 lead. Cedar came back in the first and tied the score with a td and PAT. We then scored twice in the second quarter, kicked both PAT’s and led at halftime 24-8.

Marcus scored in the third quarter and kicked the PAT for a 32 -8 lead, tnen Cedar scored twice in the fourth quarter, kicking one PAT and missing the other. Final score 32-22."

"OUR JV FOOTBALL TEAM REMAINED UNDEFEATED WITH A 14 TO 12 WIN OVER CEDAR HEIGHTS. I CANNOT GIVE THE QUARTER SCORES, BUT OUR JV SCORED FIRST AND KICKED THE PAT, THEN CEDAR SCORED. OUR JV SCORED AGAIN TO MAKE IT 14-6, THEN Cedar scored to make it 14-12.

Our varsity defeated Poulsbo 30 to 0. we scored two touchdowns in the first quarter and made both pats. We scored again in the second quarter, made the pat and led 24-0 at halftime. We scored again in the third quarter and that was the final score."

"Our varsity defeated Kingston 28-8. marcus scored a touchdown in the first quarter, missed the PAT. Marcus scored two touchdowns in the second quarter, kicking one of two PAT’s. Halftime score 20-0. Kingston scored a touchdown and PAT in third quarter and Marcus ran a kickoff back for a touchdown, then kicked the PAT to make the final score 28-8. Marcus is currently 2wins and 1 loss for varsity.

Our junior varsity defeated Poulsbo 46-13. I do not have the scores by quarter, but our junior varsity is 3 wins and 0 losses."

"Central scored a touchdown and kicked the 2 point conversion in the first quarter. Marcus scored a touchdown but missed the pat in the second quarter. Central then scored their next touchdown but missed the pat in the second quarter, and they also scored their final touchdown and made their pat before half. So the halftime score of 22 – 6 was also the final score."

"It was quite ugly yesterday, but the kind of game that's fun for a kid to play in. Both teams played hard and I think the BJH kids are going in to next week with some good enthusiasm. I know we are very excited for next Thursday and have a lot of work to do to get ready. CK won yesterday too and so it will be a really fun opportunity for these JH kids to get to play in a championship game, under the lights, at 7pm - just like they would in high school."

"We did not expect the FV game to go that way either. FV had a good game plan and some good athletes we tried to key on. Our kids made good adjustments though.

The CK/RJH game will be big this year. It is possible that both teams will come in undefeated and we will be playing at 7pm on Nov 9th at Silverdale Stadium. Both schools call this the "Night Game". The bands come, they announce the kids who passed the WASL. It is a big deal.

Last year both teams met under similar circumstances. When the JVs met in 2004, the score was RJH 8/CK 6.

Last year, CK had been beating teams by 3+ TDs, RJH had been doing the same and, to that point had only allowed 1 TD (on a kickoff).
8 of the kids from CK and 7 of the kids from RJH had been a part of the Silverdale Pee Team that had not lost in 5 years.
The game was back and forth. We scored in the 2nd quarter and made our PAT. The score at half was 8-0. CK came back in the 3rd quarter and scored BUT missed their PAT. So it is 8-6. It was back and forth the 3rd/4th quarters.

With about 2 minutes to go in the 4th quarter CK stopped us on 4th down. They got the ball back, ran three plays and came up with a 4th and 7. The QB for CK rolled left, got a good block and went about 40 yards down the sideline until we stopped him. The stadium errupted at this point. They later completed a pass to their TE, which put them on the 3 yard line with under 1 minute. The stadium is going nuts. They spike the ball to stop the clock, then try to run a slant - which was incomplete. They then tried to run a dump pass to the TE (he was about 6'4'') which was overthrown into the arms of our safety in the endzone for a touchback. We took a knee and won the game 8-6.

The ironic thing is Norm Johnson - the former kicker for the Seahawks - was the CK kicking coach.

The CK team ended 6-1 last year - averaging 4+ TDs and giving up only 1 per game.
RJH team ended 7-0, having scored 245 points and only giving up 14.

CK had 2 eighth graders playing varsity last year. RJH had 5 eighth graders on varsity.

Both schools had had kids who didn't even play last year who are impact players . . . so it should be a very good game. I know that both teams are going through their schedule, playing each week 1 game at a time, but we also have that date circled on our calendars.

This is a bit long winded, but I do love the game of football and am going to try to get the Raiders to this night in a position to play for it all."
